Job Summary


As the Resource Planner & Rostering Agent, you will be responsible for the planning of resources (staff and Ground Support Equipment) and publish timely the personnel Rosters for the Swissport dynamic Airports Operations Team. 
Operations Planning (seasonally, monthly and weekly) as well as Strategic Planning projects are within your scope of responsibilities, supporting with your calculations any managerial decision for new business opportunities or business improvement projects. Business efficiency, safety, training and operational objectives will drive the calculations, keeping you in contact and visibility with high managerial stakeholders. You will be reporting to the Head of Resource Management Center DAT in Zurich.


Job Responsibilities

Planning responsibility - delivery of Planning calculations for:
o    Operational Budget & Forecasting
o    Long-Term (seasonal, monthly) and weekly operational planning (weekly coverage check)
o    Flight schedule updates and forecasting production
o    Calculations for Operational Improvements on Station Level based on scenario simulations
o    Controlling of Resources used (planned versus actual)
o    Calculations based on forecasted values for future production and cost factors
o    Prepare data for statistical analysis for managerial decision support
o    Operational Planning Calculations for Commercial Proposals 
o    Operational Planning Calculations for Union Meetings


Rostering responsibility - Roster creation and timely publication. In particular:
o    Monthly roster creation (as per defined periods with HR and Union processes)
o    Proposal of improvements related to rostering process, 
o    Provide information in relation to controlling of rostering KPIs
o    Input in relation to forecasting on future Roster creation


•    Update the rules within the planning and rostering tools as asked by HR and Operations (operational standards, traveling times, shift lengths, arrival profiles), while extending to information on training or other contractual conditions (e.g. CLAs)
•    Proactively suggesting optimization of your area of responsibility
•    Participate in continuous improvement trainings for further building up skills and capabilities in the realm of Rostering and Resource Management in general

Qualifications and Competencies

•    Previous experience in a planning and rostering role, ideally with application GS Planning and SPXpert, of advantage

•    Experience in the aviation industry is preferred, ideally within the aviation ground handling environment

•    Sound IT knowledge, especially in Microsoft Office Suite. Advanced knowledge with applications related to data analysis and visualisation, like Excel, Pentaho, PowerBI, will be an advantage

•    Languages: 

English: fluent command, as the corporate and aviation language (minimum B1 and above). 

German: fluent command or native speaker (minimum B2 and above).

•    Resilient with a clear focus to achieve targets within given timelines
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to interact and communicate with all stakeholders within the Center, as well as, the Stations’ management, with credibility and professionalism
•    Open to receive upskilling trainings related to Resource Management Processes, Applications and Customer Service, whenever deemed necessary from the management and/or the advancement of technology.
